Privacy

What this site does with your data.

This is a personal site run by Ashwat, not a company with a data-processing team. Here is the complete, plain-language account of what gets collected and why.

What is collected

The contact form stores the name, email address, and message you submit, so I can reply and so nothing is lost if the outbound reply email fails to send. The newsletter form stores your email address for the sole purpose of sending occasional essays. Neither form is used for anything beyond replying to you or sending the newsletter you opted into.

Standard analytics (Google Analytics 4) runs on every page to understand which essays and work pages get read. It records page views, referrers, and coarse device/location information; it does not receive the content of the contact form or newsletter signup.

Who else sees it

Contact and newsletter emails are sent through Resend, a transactional email provider. Analytics data is processed by Google. Site content and submitted messages are stored in a private database and object storage that only I have access to. Nothing collected here is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone beyond the processors named above that are necessary to run the site.

How long it is kept

Contact submissions and newsletter subscriptions are kept indefinitely so I can find past conversations, unless you ask me to delete them. Analytics data follows Google Analytics’ standard retention settings.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets standard analytics cookies to distinguish visitors between sessions. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site.

Your options

Email [email protected] to see what’s stored about you, correct it, unsubscribe from the newsletter, or have it deleted. I’ll act on it directly — there is no support queue to wait in.
